Ron Clark Academy

Parent and Teacher Mobile and Desktop Portal

I collaborated with the Ron Clark Academy to introduce a mobile app aimed at enhancing the connection between parents/guardians and their child’s academy experience. After assessing their existing structure, I implemented changes to optimize the mobile experience and updated their web application to support white labeling, enabling the extension of this enhanced experience to other academies.

THE PROJECT

Challenge:

Our challenge is to figure out how to make it easier for parents to stay connected and involved in their child’s academy journey, while also making sure whatever solution we come up with can grow and adapt to fit other schools too. We want to make things better for everyone involved, from parents and kids to teachers and administrators, so finding a solution that’s both effective and flexible is key.

Solution:

Creating a user-friendly mobile app that serves as a hub for parents to access information, communicate with teachers, and stay involved in their child’s academy activities. This app will offer features such as real-time updates on events and progress, easy messaging between parents and teachers, and resources for supporting their child’s learning journey. Additionally, the web application will be updated to support white-labeling, allowing other academies to customize and implement the platform to fit their unique needs.

OUR PROCESS

User-Centric Approach:

I designed an app to enrich the Ron Clark Academy experience, featuring house points and accommodating families with multiple children. Additionally, I created a portal to extend this experience to other schools, enhancing students’ educational journeys beyond Ron Clark Academy.

Information Architecture:

We revamped the information architecture to ensure easy navigation, intuitive organization, and seamless access to relevant content within the app. This involved restructuring menus, categorizing information logically, and implementing user-friendly navigation pathways. The goal was to enhance the overall user experience by making it effortless for parents to find and engage with the information they need.

Visual Design:

We crafted a visual design inspired by the vibrant colors and house themes of the Ron Clark Academy, reminiscent of the enchanting world of Harry Potter. Drawing from these themes, our design features rich hues, whimsical elements, and distinctive house motifs to evoke a sense of magic and belonging.
